Project Description:
Stillwater Sciences is working with an interdisciplinary team involving non-profit, agency, and private entities, to investigate benefits, costs and risks of converting to conservation-till agriculture and to create an accounting mechanism for carbon-capture wetlands in the Delta.
Through a technical report and series of educational pamphlets, the benefits, costs, and feasibility of land use conversion to conservation-till agriculture and carbon-capture wetlands will be presented in the context of landowner concerns and practical constraints.
The team will also produce a ‘road map’ which lays out the steps required for moving forward in substantiating and developing an accounting protocol for carbon-capture wetlands.
